Description of the PADI Assistant Instructor training

The PADI Assistant Instructor courseis your first step towards being a PADI Instructor. This training takes about 4 days and represents the first part of the program. Open Water Scuba Instructor.
Thus, before embarking on the great adventure, you can assist the instructor in the pedagogical and theoretical teaching of his training, which will allow you to gain some experience.
Usually diving enthusiasts complete their AI with a full IDC,before taking the Instructor Exam (IE), the final step in becoming a PADI Instructor.

Conditions of registration

To participate in the PADI IDC Instructor training, you must:

Be 18 years old
Be an EFRi Instructor or holder of EFR training(CPR and first aid) for less than 24 months. You will thus be able to acquire the EFRi level during your instructor training.
Have completed a minimum of 60 certified dives.
Provide a medical certificate of no contraindication to the practice and teaching of diving.

Academic

This training takes place over approximately 4 days. During this program, you extend your PADI Divemaster prerogatives, by developing your teaching skills, in order to prepare yourself to become a PADI Instructor. You will therefore learn to conduct training sessions in accordance with PADI standards, while improving your skills.
In particular, we will discuss the following topics:
– Diving theory, instructor level.
– Demonstration skills, instructor level.
– Theoretical and practical teaching technique.
– In-depth learning of the PADI education system.

Start your PADI Assistant Instructor Training

If you want to start your training immediately, register for the Online IDC – PADI Learning option. You will be able to study at your own pace the nine interactive sections of knowledge development. The online pre-study will save you time on knowledge review, which you can use with the practice of technical exercises.

To learn even more, PADI eLearning also offers Dive Theory Online. A program that takes you step-by-step through diving physics, physiology, skills, equipment and environment, plus a Recreational Dive Planner exam, Recreational Dive Table.

By successfully completing Dive Theory Online, earn half credit for your final Divemaster exam! Our PADI Instructors will explain how it works during our meetings.

What is the Instructor Examination (IE)?

The EI is an evaluation program allowing a candidate instructor to be tested on several points:

His teaching skills, his theoretical knowledge, his level of his diving techniques, his understanding of the PADI System, as well as his attitude and professionalism.
PADI IEs are standardized and conducted by certified and specially trained PADI examiners.

Examinations take place over two days, in environments carefully selected to ensure that the assessment of candidates is as objective and fair as possible. Only those meeting the required skills obtain the respected PADI Instructor certification.
